Getting Started

Thinking about consigning? It's easy! Text photos of your gently used furniture or home decor to 515-777-8992, email us at jen@shopchangingplaces.com, or use the form below. We'll review your items, let you know what we can accept, and schedule a drop-off during store hours. Please make sure all items are clean, in good condition, free of stains, pet hair, and damage, and come from smoke-free environments.

Pickup & Delivery

Need help moving items? We're happy to recommend a trusted full-service mover for a seamless experience.

If you're looking for a more budget-friendly option, we also offer store-arranged garage or curbside pickup and delivery on Wednesdays between 10 AM and 2 PM for a flat fee of $100 (within a 20-mile radius). This service is available for both consignors and buyers. Please note: our team is only able to pick up or drop off items that are ready and accessible in a garage or driveway. For insurance reasons, we're unable to enter homes or assist with moving items inside.

Terms & Payouts

Consigned items are displayed in our store for up to four months. For items priced over $60, we apply a 15% discount every 30 days to help them sell (fun fact: 90% of our inventory sells in the first 30 days!). If your items haven't sold by the end of the four months, you can choose to restart the consignment period or arrange for pickup. If we don't hear from you, the items will be transferred to a store account and may be further discounted or donated.

You'll receive 45% of the final sale price. Payouts are issued on the 5th of the month following the sale. Payments under $100 are made in cash; payments over $100 are paid by check.

We accept furniture, rugs, mirrors, wall art, and home decor. At the moment, we aren't taking armoires due to low demand.

To help keep things running smoothly, we ask that you send photos first. We often have other consignors already scheduled, and we can only accommodate a certain number of items each day - sending photos ahead lets us plan accordingly and saves you a trip!

We base pricing on a mix of factors - brand, condition, style, and current trends. Since condition plays such a big role, we only price items after seeing them in person.

Payouts are processed on the 5th of the month after your item sells. Payments under $100 are made in cash, and anything over $100 is paid by check. All payouts are picked up in-store - just swing by when it's convenient!

We do! If you're located further out, we're happy to recommend a trusted third-party mover. Just let us know and we'll point you in the right direction.

With over 6,000 consignors and about 100 new items arriving every day, our inventory moves incredibly fast — it's just not something we're able to track or give updates on individually. We totally understand the treasure hunt though! The best way to stay in the loop is by following us on Facebook and Instagram - we share lots of new arrivals there.
